DouglasCampbell Third Thursday Dark Earth Hour Proposal 0 May 1 2008, 12:44 PM EDT by DouglasCampbell

This is the kind of thing Sierra Club does - all symbolism, no substance. It won't save much, if any, electricity and what little it does save will be during an off-peak hour.
It won't even be dark yet at 9:00 pm eastern daylight saving time at 42-plus degrees north latitude. It would make more sense to repeal daylight saving time. DST is at least a legislative creation.
If anybody notices Dark Thursday at all - which I pretty much doubt - it'll only further marginalize us as a serious political party. How far do we want to go with this - turn off streetlights and traffic signals?
Do you find this valuable?
